Final event in Ruins – MUNDANENESS in Poland

On August 11, 2023 at 8 pm, after a poetry walk in the atmospheric interiors of the Victoria Theater Ruins in Gliwice, audience could listen poems read by poets involved in the project “Poets of Today-Voices of Tomorrow” – Małgorzata Lebda, Maciej Bobula, Joanna Bociąg, Barbara Klicka, Jakub Kornhauser, Patrycja Sikora, Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało, Urszula Zajączkowska.

The gathered audience eagerly awaited the appearance of the next artist announced by a sound signal and a light falling on their silhouette. Such a concept, developed by director Julia Mark, Veronika Murek – playwright and at the same time member of the artistic team, and light director Tomasz Schaefer, built a pleasant tension and created a unique atmosphere for the meeting. The combination of musical and visual effects largely determined the uniqueness of the evening, in accordance with the intended concept of the project, namely the development of new performative forms of poetic presentations. The voices of poets resounded in an atmosphere of concentration and listening to the gathered audience.

Friday’s performance proved that some people like poetry and these people are not so few.
